First words from Sammy today! Sammy is enjoying her trip to Sweden, although she says she cannot believe that she is actually there. Her only reminder that she is not home in the USA is that she cannot understand a single word spoken around her.
Sammy had quite the day yesterday, a trip to the hospital and a few stitches. She said "One minute I was showering, the next I was on the floor and my chin was bleeding." After six hours in the hospital and not having eaten, Sammy was ready to get out of there. And other than needing a few stitches she is all set to dominate in the pool today! Now if some of you are concerned that she may be injured and how that will affect her performance today, let me remind you of what an animal Sammy is... This is the girl who not only swam but swam a personal best with an inflamed appendix. And only a few weeks after her appendectomy was back in the water competing at the same level as she was prior to surgery. And with the added motivation to beat an annoying teammate I am confident she will have an amazing race.
Today's (6/10) event: Swimming
Tomorrow's (6/11) event: Fencing, and Running/Shooting (combined)
Best of luck to Sammy and hope she is feeling better soon!
