This year has been flying by and I can't believe that spring is just around the corner. Sometimes with training and school the weeks just start
to blur together and I have to take the time to slow down and enjoy the little things and life more.
There has been an international camp that came to Colorado
Springs to train before the first World Cup in Palm Springs and it was great to see some of the athletes again. I
am still unable to bout others in fencing which, once again, is frustrating because it
is very good for training and experience.
I am trying to remain patient and
looking towards the things that I am finally able to do to work up to that
again. I am now 4 months post-surgery and have gotten to run at 100% body
weight! It was such a good feeling to run again even if it’s only for a short
time I will be able to keep progressing slowly.
The fencing footwork and kicking in the
pool has been getting quicker and the strength is returning. I still have about
two more months before I will really be able to push and go 100% in all of my training, according to
the doctors. I am happy that the time has been going by fairly quickly I feel that I am getting much stronger and closer to being back to full training again!
