The End of 2010 and the Beginning of 2011!

It has been forever since I have posted an update on training and competitions but I’ll start back up with the end of December. In December, there was a competition which was the start of the selection process for the World Cup #1 in Palm Springs, California. I did well and finished in 3rd place which put me in the running for qualifying for the World Cup as well as the National team.

I moved home for the holidays and the beginning of the year to keep training and prepare for the January qualifier as well as the World Cup #1.

The second of the two selection competitions was held in Rancho Mirage, CA. This was my first time to California and it was beautiful. There was a small camp before the competition and I got to work with Shelia Taormina, a four time Olympian, in a swim clinic. I also did a riding clinic with Michael Cintas, the USA Pentathlon riding coach, at his beautiful riding facility, Equestrian Centers International. The camp went well and some of the athletes from Canada were there which was fun to have more teammates, as well as meet some of the international athletes.

The competition in Palm Springs went well; there were a lot more women which made the competition more challenging but a lot more fun. I finished in 4th place for the U.S. Women. This secured me a spot on the World Cup #1 in Palm Springs!
