Enjoying the rest of Summer and start of Fall!

It was nice to be back home and have a home cooked meal after the amazing trip and competition in Poland. I was able to stay home for a while and catch up with some friends and family and show them my gold medals!

I had started classes while I was in Poland and was currently doing full time school through DeVry University. I was enjoying a little bit of rest time and just swimming and running for fun along with the beautiful fall weather! I was also able to go paddle boarding for the first time with some good friends before the lake got too cold!

I was still experiencing problems with my hip and the torn labrum and was having quite a bit of pain while I competed at Junior World Championships. I went to see a hip specialist who said that I had gone through all the options other than surgery and that it would be a good time to decide if that's really what I would like to do. I really liked the doctor.  He had a positive outlook for the surgery and that this was the right solution to getting better and healthy for the next seasons to come in fulfilling my dreams of qualifying for the Olympics in Rio in 2016. We set the date for the surgery and I returned to Coloradoo Springs to keep training at the Olympic Training Center and stay fit until the surgery. To have a better chance at a quick recovery after the surgery, I knew that I needed to stay strong and in shape up until the day I would go into the hospital. It would also be nice to train for fun and enjoy being able to workout before the lengthy postop recovery. The U.S. Nationals would also be in about 6 weeks and that would be a good competition to end the season with.
