I arrived on Tuesday night and the competition was on Thursday so I was hopeful that I would get my bag before then. Thankfully, I had my competition bag and was only missing my running uniform and had packed a few extra clothes in my carry on that I had brought. My bad did not show up before the competition so I had to borrow some clothes from other athletes and had to tape my name on the back of my jersey for the running. My bag ended up coming in on Friday which was very nice having more clean clothes and knowing my bag wasn’t lost somewhere.
The competition did not go as well as I had hoped. I swam first and was two seconds off my best time and just felt a little slow in the water. The fencing started well but with the jet lag I was having a rough time staying alert and focused. I had an awesome shoot for my combined but was unable to make the finals. Two of the U.S. Women made finals and it was good to go and support them at the event while I was there. I was unable to do any sightseeing while I was here since there wasn’t too many places to go that would be close and easy to get to.
After the competition, I flew to Berlin and then took a bus to Drzonkow, Poland where I met
up with more teammates and my coach for the training camp until Senior World Championships!
