The facilities at the training center were great. The swimming pool was a 50m indoor and the doors opened up on the side when it was really nice out and almost seemed like we were swimming outdoors. The shooting range was outdoors and was huge, it was great for practicing combined workouts with running and shooting. The riding ring was also very nice and had great footing as well as well behaved horses. I got to do some jumping while here and this was a first time for me getting to ride a horse in Europe! The fencing gym had tons of strips and allowed for lots of fencing while training there. The trails around the facility were also great! There was so many places to go run and the ground was soft and allowed for lots of running. I had to be careful not to get lost or chased by pigs in the forest, thankfully I didn't come across or see any! The food wasn't great but there was stores near by and it's good thing I'm not too picky when it comes to eating.
The training was pretty tough while in Poland but I had finished up my session of classes with DeVry University while I was in Russia so it was nice to not worry about school and studying and just focus on training. It was also good to fence with women from other countries and get more experience with that. We also did a few small competitions in fencing while there which was fun and allowed me to get to know some of the other athletes. While we were there the weather was unbelievably warm for that time of the year. My team mates and I also got to experience our two coaches have a tennis match against the Lithuanian team coaches. It was very entertaining and fun to cheer them on and get a couple of laughs in as well :) I learned a little bit of polish while I was there which is always fun to learn new phrases or words in different languages. This was my first training camp overseas and it was a wonderful experience and I hope to go back soon.
Now off to Rome, Italy for World Championships!
